photo of accused and condemned French priest, Fr. Thierry de Roucy
Blogger just got news of this from our French correspondent. A prominent French citizen who has a daughter in the organization wants American authorities to have this priest expelled from the US and have him sent back to French where he is sought by civil authorities.
To the [US] Consul General,
I am a French citizen,
doctor of the Institute of political studies in Paris and Professor Emeritus of
the University Paris Ouest. I am a member of the Catholic Church and my
daughter belonged to a religious community whose founder was found guilty of
serious crimes. It is about a Frenchman, Thierry de Roucy, … a diocesan priest.
He is incardinated into the diocese of Fréjus-Toulon, i.e. he should pursue its
activities in this diocese. However, he lives continuously for several years in
the United States.
According my
information, he lives at the following address:
International Center for a
Culture of Compassion (ICCC) 2299 Ulster Heights Rd Woodbourne NY 12788 (845)
434-5076.
He has been condemned by Catholic ecclesiastical justice including
for abuse of power and sexual abuse. The was made on June 21, 2011 by the officialité
(ecclesiastical tribunal) of Lyon ratified by the Congregation for the Doctrine
of the Faith [Vatican] which not only watches over doctrine, but is also the highest court in the Catholic Church for this kind of business. This conviction has been the subject of an article in the newspaper La Croix (see PJ, with the English translation). It is mentioned on an official site of the Catholic Church at the following address: http://pncds72.free.fr/316_thierry_roucy.php; you can also obtain confirmation from the Nunciature in Paris. It should be noted that the acts for which Fr. Thierry of Roucy was recognized guilty by Catholic ecclesiastical justice are also punishable by French criminal law.
Please accept, Mr Consul General, the assurance of my respectful feelings.

From wikipedia : "On 9 April 2013, the French newspaper La Croix reported that Fr. de Roucy had been convicted by the Ecclesiastical Court of Lyon (France) of sexual abuse and abuse of power towards an *adult* person after seven years of a complex trial during which he pleaded not guilty. This case *has never been brought to a Civil Court*. La Croix noted that the conviction took place in 2011 for a case dating back to 1996-97.
ReplyDeleteNothing to be compared with Fr Maciel, no pedophilia here, and he "only" was asked not to confess members of his movement for three years. So, to be fair - and if we consider that the Ecclesiastical Court of Lyon did its job well - I think that the title of this article should at least be edited.
